TaTe Diamonds: Where rarity meets refinement

Every love story is unique, and at Tate Diamonds, they strive to produce rings that are just as meaningful as the moment they represent. With a goal of going above and beyond what any other diamond company has to offer, and a process rooted in heritage, sustainability, and craftsmanship, TaTe shows what happens when you focus on what really makes moments magical.

Their story starts in Namibia, a place with the highest standard of gem-quality diamonds in the world. The name ‘TaTe’ means ‘father’ or ‘leader,’ which correlates directly with their mission to lead the diamond industry with integrity and grace. In partnership with the Kimberley Process, TaTe Diamonds makes sure that every piece of jewelry crafted uses diamonds that are ethically sourced and conflict-free.

“Our diamonds are more than gemstones, they are a privilege from our ancestors, a gift from the earth to be shared wth the world,” says founder and CEO, TaShi Shiimi-ya-Shiimi.  Growing up in Namibia, he carried the values of perseverance and representation with him. With a background in finance and strategic management at global Fortune 500 companies, he launched TaTe Diamonds in 2017 with a goal of ensuring the beauty of his diamonds are never separate from where the diamond comes from or who stands behind it. He watched Namibia’s precious stones travel the world, all while their origins and stories disappeared in the process. Today, those values define TaTe Diamonds, now headquartered in Buckhead, as the only fully Namibian-owned, vertically integrated diamond house in the United States.

When buying a piece of jewelry from TaTe Diamonds, you are purchasing quality stones and the knowledge of the history that comes with them. No part of the process goes unseen, and everything from sourcing the diamonds directly from the ocean, to cutting and polishing, and finally heading to retail is carefully executed and handled with care. They are here to change the narrative that comes with buying diamonds and get rid of any uncertainty revolving around the process.

Each diamond follows a mine-to-finger journey, with the brand putting culture and preservation at the forefront of this process. The stones are recovered from the Namibian ocean floor, then cut and polished in the TaTe facility before being certified by the Gemological Institute of America. Each diamond is then laser-inscribed with the TaTe name and a serial number unique to each stone, ensuring full traceability before it ever even reaches a client.

The brand’s impact extends beyond the showroom. Every diamond sold directly supports families and communities in Namibia, reinforcing the deeper purpose behind each piece.

This simple yet transparent process is what has drawn modern clients to seek TaTe Diamonds for celebrations just as monumental as the diamonds themselves. Formed in the Atlantic Ocean, these stones have stood the test of time, and only the strongest have been chosen, resulting in diamonds known for their exceptional brilliance, clarity, and purity.

The collections themselves also have an undeniable cultural and historical influence. Often drawing directly from Namibia, the resilience and independence are reflected in every creation. Inside the Buckhead showroom, clients arrive at every stage of the journey. Some seek fully custom engagement rings, while others discover TaTe for the first time, drawn in by both design and story.
