As an avid golfer, it was a dream for Nick Jonas to create something in the golf space. While his crossover with luxury golf brand PXG might seem, in his own words, “a little off the wall and disruptive” to the general public, Nick Jonas and his brothers have long harbored a love for the game.
“At about 15, 16 years old, we started touring with the brothers and we would have entire days to fill with something before our shows that night and eventually, started playing golf and making it a big part of our daily routine for the show,” he shared at the launch of his new golf apparel line.
As the Jonas Brothers’ careers have soared, Nick and his brothers have managed to continue their passion by playing golf courses all around the world. It is this love for the game that drives Nick’s partnership with PXG, bringing along his knowledge of fashion and his understanding of golf to his capsule collection’s functionality.
The PXG x NJ Capsule Collection debuted on November 15 at a pop-up experience in NYC’s Soho neighborhood. In celebration of their collaboration, Nick Jonas and Renee Parsons, Executive Creative Director of PXG Apparel and wife of PXG founder, Bob Parsons, hosted an immersive experience and panel discussion, moderated by HYPEGOLF. Designed after the PXG House at the internationally acclaimed Scottsdale National Golf Club, attendees of the PXG Clubhouse were able to play a round on the putting green, enjoy a gifting clubhouse locker room, and try on and shop the limited-edition collection that includes vests, joggers, jackets, tees, cross over bags, sandals, and much more.
With elevated details like buttons in place of snaps, the NJ crest logo on polos, striped details, and the use of high quality fabrics, the line offers a sleek and modern spin on traditional golf wear. With its durable functionality and aesthetic design, anyone wearing a piece from the PXG x NJ Capsule Collection can run from the golf course to a dinner event and feel at ease. While speaking with Ray Mate’, HYPEGOLF Senior Editor, Nick Jonas shared that one of his favorite pieces in the collection are the après golf slides, PXG’s first foray into footwear. With a unisex design and details on the sole of tiny spikes built into the clear rubber base, the slides are a perfect example of the ingenuity this collaboration brings to each piece.
There are fifteen apparel styles and nine accessories to choose from in the PXG x NJ collection, offering something for everyone. Black, gray, white, and cobalt blue are the standout hues, with bright pops of color found in elements like yellow zipper highlights. Stretchy fabrics and soft silhouettes highlight the ease of wear of each item, and with inclusivity at the forefront of design decisions, there is a 50/50 offering of designs for both men and women. Another striking feature of the capsule collection is the offering of three different fits for the golf shirts; the Comfort Fit and Athletic Fit have been joined by the “Nick Fit,” an option for those with wider shoulders and narrower waists.
The nine-piece accessories collection includes hats, socks, and another one of Mr. Jonas’ personal favorites from the line. “I personally use all the bags, but the duffel’s my favorite bag I have now. I just did my first couple trips with it and you can fit your whole life in it, which most of my life is spent traveling so it’s nice to have that,” he explained during the panel discussion.
From duffel bags to polos to fitted pantsuits, the PXG x NJ Capsule Collection offers a sleek new spin on golf wear on and off the course.
You can shop the PXG x NJ Capsule Collection in PXG stores nationwide or online at www.pxg.com.
For those lucky enough to call the Garden State home, the PXG Paramus store location offers the perfect opportunity to shop the collection in person. See, touch, and try on the pieces that PXG x NJ brings to NJ and beyond.
