VUE Atlanta had the absolute pleasure of conversing with Brandon Chubb, NFL star and CEO of Do Not Disturb wellness studio. After a career in the NFL, Brandon’s longing and appreciation for the world-class facilities where he experienced pre-eminent recovery treatments that catered to him as an athlete drove him to create a restorative wellness and recovery studio dedicated to all individuals who seek physical healing in a consoling environment.
Brandon’s journey towards pursuing health and wellness has been a goal he has always wanted to achieve. Being involved in sports and maintaining his health ignited his passion for health and wellness. His high involvement in sports prepared him to be even more educated and informed on what it takes to provide that sense of not only recovery to a person’s physical body but the importance of catering to his or her mental well-being especially post-pandemic where wellness has now been prioritized more than ever.
What is Wellness?
“The definition of wellness has changed. It is less about how you look. It’s more about how you feel. These are the questions you have to ask yourself: Do I go to bed when I want? Do I wake up feeling good? Do I crash in the middle of a workday? How do I feel after exercising? The recovery process is not all about what you can do preventively, but also proactively to mentally and physically feel well outside of what it looks like in the mirror.”
How do you market your services to people who may not be elite athletes but still seek recovery and relaxation?
“It is the restorative side of things where you come into Do Not Disturb and guests are instantly transported into a tranquil oasis. It doesn’t matter where you are in your wellness journey. The environment where you choose to give yourself the necessary rest makes the journey worthwhile.”
Recovery, Metabolism, and Stress Relief which consists of detoxification plus enhanced circulation all under the umbrella of contrast therapy. These 3 protocols are able to discern a tailored routine session for each guest within the services that are offered in the studio!
When you think of a wellness studio that caters to physical and mental recovery, what comes to mind? A small crowded sauna with little to no space to unwind? Or maybe a quiet yet social setting. Brandon speaks to VUE about keeping the community intact while incorporating private rooms to meet the needs of every guest in such a diverse setting such as Ponce City Market, an astonishing staple in Midtown Atlanta, and the location of Do Not Disturb. As you enter the inviting space of Do Not Disturb, you’re immediately welcomed into a 500-square-foot relaxation room filled with plush banquette-style couches and dim lighting to set the tone for a calming session. From an inclusivity and community-based standpoint, the Zen space can be used to host gatherings or comfortably convene before and after appointments. To those who are seeking to introvertly alleviate to regain energy, Do Not Disturb has individual rooms for single use. A single room consists of a sauna, shower, and an elevated cold plunge tub. If sharing confined spaces with strangers was ever a hindrance to your relaxation, consider it diminished. Do Not Disturb has gained its name by simply delivering peace and restoration to both the mind and body. Prioritizing care for oneself is the key to balancing a busy lifestyle, lets start here. Put your body on Do Not Disturb.
