A Taste of What Makes Atlanta Unique

The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is a grand event celebrating the culinary community; it’s a celebration where participants can eat rich foods, drink wine, enjoy beer, and really enjoy the culture and community of Atlanta. Returning for its 16th year, the festival will take place September 10–13 at The Home Depot Backyard, allowing guests to enjoy food, wine, beer, and the communities that make Atlanta what it is.

For festivals like this one, the culture and identity of Atlanta is the story. The dishes reflect Atlanta’s Southern heritage, immersing guests and participants in the culture and showing how Atlanta is a melting pot of cultures, foods, traditions, and flavors. The festival highlights elevated dining while showing just how far Atlanta has come when it comes to the culinary scene. 

This celebration features cookouts, tasting tents, and experiences that showcase the many variations of Atlanta’s food culture, giving people a chance to eat, drink, and enjoy the meals that make the city so unique.

Each day of this four-day festival is dedicated to highlighting different parts of Atlanta’s Culinary identity. From Southern favorites to modern dining concepts, the festival shapes Atlanta’s culinary identity. Attendees can discover new dishes while celebrating the people behind Atlanta’s growing food scene.

Monti Carlo, Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s food and dining editor, anchors the host lineup. Andrew Zimmern, Ford Fry, and Shawn Osbey are also part of the lineup. Kardea Brown and Kelli Potter round out the festival hosts. These hosts will guide guests through each day’s distinct tasting experience, bringing their own perspectives and personalities to the festival.

Hosts of the Tasting Tents will prepare signature recipes during live cooking demonstrations while engaging directly with festival guests. These demonstrations give attendees the chance to watch and learn culinary techniques from professionals they’ll get to witness famous meals come to life.
