Art is magical. It invites us to step into new worlds, whether we stumble upon it serendipitously or go out of our way to immerse ourselves in it. Fortunately, Atlanta’s vibrant art scene provides opportunities for both casual enthusiasts and seasoned collectors alike. The city’s exceptional galleries are a testament to its continually growing prominence. Here, we’ve highlighted some of our favorites, particularly for collectors or connoisseurs.

Jackson Fine Art Gallery

Jackson Fine Art Gallery is a staple for lovers of amazing photography. It specializes in 20th-century and contemporary works. Founded in 1990, the gallery has strong ties with both public and private institutions, making it an integral part of Atlanta’s art community. The collection on display showcases the best contemporary photography and is a must-see for anyone with a discerning eye.

Dunwoody Gallery

Although relatively new to the art scene, Dunwoody Gallery is making a significant impact. Owner Dawn Knauer Tresh curates original artwork and personally showcases her creations. The gallery’s diverse offerings include a variety of mediums, styles, and subject matters, making it a visually engaging space. If you’re looking for something unique and fresh, this gallery is definitely worth a visit.

Nestled in a beautifully restored historic church in East Atlanta Village, the ABV Gallery showcases stunning art pieces. With over 500 international artists represented, the gallery boasts an impressive collection of contemporary art. Its mission is to nurture Atlanta’s vibrant creative community while providing a platform for both artists and art enthusiasts. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the art scene, ABV is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Atlanta Contemporary

As a nonprofit organization, Atlanta Contemporary highlights emerging artists who have yet to hold major exhibitions in the Southeast. With the motto “changing the way we all see art,” the gallery is committed to creating an open and inclusive space for artistic exploration. It’s a great place for those eager to discover the next generation of creative talent, situated near iconic attractions like the World of Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
