A fitting crown for the majestic Lookout Mountain in northwestern Georgia, the Cloudland at McLemore Resort is a resplendent getaway. Approximately 2 hours from Atlanta and an hour from Chattanooga  this prestigious resort is a part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. A 245-room hotel and private home rental options provide enough space for large gatherings. Open year-round, the resort has an infinity pool and hot tub that allows guests to unwind and take in the sheer beauty of the Lookout Mountain range. From Skyside, a poolside oasis, Cloudland visitors can recharge with drinks and snacks while still taking in the panoramic mountain views.

Nested at an elevation of 2,000 feet, Cloudland has consistently optimal weather for hiking and golfing. With approximately 20 miles of well-kept trail surrounding Cloudland, the Five Points Trail System provides one of the best hiking experiences that Georgia can offer. Opened in late February 2024, Cloudland has a wealth of both modern and classic wellness activities and amenities such as yoga classes, meditative sound baths, and hydrotherapy lounges. World-class golf courses and a world-class spa make for a world-class getaway. Unparalleled views from their guest rooms make relaxing even more effortless.

On October 1st, 2025, the “island in the sky,” celebrated their grand opening of The Keep, an 18-hole championship golf course. There has been no shortage of praise for The Keep since its opening. Notable figures in the golf course architecture industry like Joe Passov aka “Travelin’ Joe” and Derek Duncan praised The Keep’s ability to handle windy conditions and its incredible views atop Lookout Mountain. With all the positive praise and accolades it received, The Keep was likely the most celebrated new golf course in North America in 2025.

Renowned architects Bill Bergin and Rees Jones were tasked to design this grand golf course. “This project presented a rare opportunity to take advantage of a site with such dramatic elevation and natural character,” remarks Bill Bergin. “Our focus was to craft a layout that tests every aspect of a golfer’s game, while also delivering unforgettable moments along the cliffs and valleys of Lookout Mountain and McLemore Cove.” 1.5 miles of uninterrupted cliff edge form the shape of the amphitheater and create a focal point at the center of the property. The sun shines exquisitely through the trees no matter the time of day. Being located 2,300 feet above sea level and 1,500 feet above the valley floor below provides McLemore with an ideal elevation for championship-level golfing.“Diversity of venue is a big part of what makes golf an extraordinary game,” adds Bergin. “From my first walk around the site, I knew The Keep was unlike any other property I had experienced. It has been extremely rewarding to be able to blend sport with nature and have it result in nothing less than spectacular golf.” Approximately 60 miles of the Blue Ridge Mountains can be seen from The Keep. “Golf developers search across the globe for extraordinary land, and our site within the McLemore community offered exactly that,” says Jones. There are few more striking views than The Keep in all of inland golf.

The trio also includes The Cairn Short Course, a 6-hole short course, and The Highlands Course, a mountaintop 18-hole course 2,300 feet above sea level. The Cairn was designed by Bergin and The Highlands are a collaboration by Bergin and Jones. The venerated 18th hole of The Highlands can be seen from The Cairn. Access to The Keep as well as the other acclaimed courses is available for guests staying at Cloudland at McLemore Resort as well as resort members.

Cloudland is a serene sojourn in the North Georgia Mountains that accommodates their affluent clientele in all the ways they would hope. Rejuvenate by relaxing poolside, communing with nature on the Five Points Trail, or participating in a tee time on any of the pristine golf courses available. For more introverted visitors, retiring to a cozy room and enjoying the sunrise or sunset is just as fulfilling. McLemore Resort is already a marquee mountain vacation destination; the possibility of future improvements is ever present.
