LOUIS XIII Cognac unveils BLACK PEARL: TRIBUTE TO THE BIRTHPLACE OF LOUIS XIII, a new, highly limited-edition expression inspired by Le Grollet, the revered cellar where the story of LOUIS XIII began.
The heart of this blend is an extraordinary eau-de-vie selected by Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau that carries the timeless Le Grollet imprint. BLACK PEARL is to be experienced with a first-of-its-kind temperature-driven tasting ritual, revealing the blend’s full and rich character.
Each decanter is presented in a bespoke cooling cellar, allowing the liquid to rest at a minimum of 13°C (55.4°F). As it warms in the glass, the flavors will continue to develop, creating an experience designed to be the first-ever temperature-driven ritual for LOUIS XIII.
This natural temperature evolution highlights the spectrum of BLACK PEARL; warm spices, richer rancio, nutmeg, and whispers of chocolate.
Infused in a single tierçon, the eau-de vie “reveals hidden facets of LOUIS XIII, unveiling a richer, more profound essence, akin to uncovering ancient treasures.” said Loiseau.
With only 398 decanters worldwide, this creation is housed in a reimagined LOUIS XIII decanter adorned with midnight-blue reflections. Inspired by the profound mystery of Le Grollet, the BLACK PEARL rests in profound stillness– an embrace of honey, wood, and patchouli, as if slumbering within ancient tierçons.
LOUIS XIII BLACK PEARL will be available by the glass at a selection of destinations around the world, including Paris, London, New York, Shanghai, & Kuala Lumpur, inviting guests to experience the innovative tasting ritual.
