Coastal Golf Luxury in Georgia
Since 1928, Sea Island has been a premier coastal destination on Georgia’s Golden Isles, renowned for its world-class hospitality, Southern charm, and legendary golf. Home to three championship golf courses, four Forbes Five-Star experiences, and the only U.S. resort to host a G-8 Summit, Sea Island offers an unmatched setting for leisure, luxury, and legacy.
Seaside Course: Where the Pros Play
Located along Georgia’s coastline, Sea Island’s Seaside Golf Course is a masterclass of golf architecture and natural beauty. Initially designed in 1929 by famous golf course architects Harry S. Colt and Charles Alison, the historic course was reborn under the vision of Tom Fazio in 1999. Golf Legend Davis Love III says it best- Fazio turned “18 holes that didn’t match into 18 matchless holes.”
Flanked by sweeping ocean dunes, native grasses, and ever-changing coastal winds, Seaside demands precision and creativity. Frequently ranked among the Top 100 golf courses in the U.S., it also serves as the host site for the PGA TOUR’s RSM Classic, where the world’s best test their skill each year.

Plantation Course: Classic Roots, Modern Rebirth
Initially a nine-hole layout designed by Walter Travis in 1928, Sea Island’s Plantation Course was redesigned in 2019 by Davis Love III and his brother Mark, through their firm, Love Golf Design. For the Love brothers, it’s been more than a project; it’s a personal transformation of the course they grew up playing.
Today, the course combines classic features, such as the Principal’s Nose on the 10th green, with sweeping ocean views and challenging holes. Stretching over 7,000 yards from the championship tees, Plantation offers a timeless yet modern golf experience.
Retreat Course: Inviting and Playable
Initially opened in the 1970s as the St. Simons Island Club, the Retreat Course underwent a redesign in 2001 by the Love brothers. Today, it blends the charm of the original layout with modern enhancements that make it both approachable and challenging.
With towering pines, well-placed bunkers, and wide, forgiving fairways, Retreat encourages bold play across its 7,100-yard layout. It’s a course where both seasoned players and newcomers can enjoy a rewarding round.
