The Pinterest-worthy oasis is the perfect fit for any home, bringing a blend of boutique luxury and handmade love that every space needs this season.
The artisan ceramics store gathers seconds from independent potteries in Portugal and across Europe that live by the motto “minor flaws, major charm,” as every piece is produced with minor imperfections, making each piece just that much more unique.

About Olaria Ceramics:
For owners Edward Costa and Jane Dapkus, Olaria is more than just a store; it is an ode to the deep roots established within Ed’s Portuguese heritage. His parents immigrated to the United States from Portugal and much of his family still lives there. Jane notes that the country “has always been an important part of his life.”
The heritage inspired the name Olaria, which means “pottery” in Portuguese. As Edward is a dual citizen, the two spent significant time in the Portugal, developing a deep appreciation for its culture, craftsmanship and traditions.
The business itself was born from a retirement plan pivot. After initially exploring the idea of importing and selling Portuguese artisan goods at local fairs, Edward and Jane built close relationships with local potters throughout Portugal. During the process abroad, the two were introduced to a retail concept of selling ceramic tableware by weight. It was an immediate hit between the owners, as it “offered customers access to beautiful, high-quality artisan ceramics at an affordable price,” Jane explains, while also giving “new life to excess inventory, discontinued patterns and pieces that might otherwise go unused.”
The more that Edward and Jane explored the concept of opening Olaria in Atlanta, the more that the two realized there was an opportunity to create something truly unique. Jane adds on by saying “Olaria allows us to share a piece of Portugal with Atlanta while introducing a fun, shopping experience centered around beautiful, functional products that are both affordable and sustainable.”
