During the chilly winter months, Florida is always considered to be an ideal getaway due to its sunny weather and tourist sites. If you’re going on a vacation to Florida or even just planning a day trip, the last thing you’d want to worry about is deciding where to eat, which is why VUE NJ is highlighting two fantastic restaurants in south Florida. With one restaurant located in Palm Beach and the other located in Boynton Beach, these dining options have been taste-tested and approved by VUE NJ and are sure to satisfy anyone’s dining needs.

City Cellar in West Palm Beach, Florida

City Cellar is known and loved for their contemporary versions of beloved foods, such as hearth-baked pizza and pasta. A unique feature of City Cellar is their array of menus; from brunch to lunch to midday to dinner, they have an option for any time of the day and any craving. While the restaurant has a distinctly Italian influence on their foods, especially their starters, you can also get uniquely tropical options such as the Coconut Tempura Mahi Mahi sandwich or the Blue Crab Crusted Sea Bass if you are a seafood lover.

As the name suggests, City Cellar provides plentiful beverages from their award-winning cellar; with over 600 bottles and 80 wines by the glass, you are sure to find a taste that suits your needs. Of course, there is cheese and charcuterie to pair with your favorite drink, featuring delectable seasonal accompaniments. The brunch menu even features unlimited mimosas or Bloody Marys, with the purchase of an entree, so you can sip and enjoy City Cellar’s authentic drinks all day long.

Whether you want to relax after a long day, or begin your afternoon with something delicious, City Cellar has you covered. Popular items include the Breakfast Pizza, which is made with mozzarella, bacon, cracked egg, chives, and spicy hollandaise, for a unique twist on a beloved dish. There is also the classic Avocado Toast, nestled on a bed of greens with tomatoes, mozzarella, and eggs. For dinner, guests love the “chicken under a brick” with potato puree, green cauliflower, tomatoes “soto olio”, and lemon-thyme jus. No matter what your tastes are, City Cellar is sure to have something that fits your desires.

Josie’s Italian Restaurant in Delray, Florida

Josie’s Italian Restaurant serves Italian food where the freshness and quality of the ingredients are emphasized, giving the food a delicious, authentic taste. If you’re in the area at the time, stop in on Sundays for their Sunday Brunch from 10 AM – 3:30 PM, featuring dishes like Challah French Toast, Eggs Benedict, and Chicken and Waffles. If not, you can enjoy their classic Happy Hour menu, with starters like vine-ripe tomato bruschetta or chicken wings, with wines, beers, and specialty drinks like an Aperol Spritz or a Chocolate Martini.

Josie’s Italian Restaurant has something for everybody, whether you are looking for more standard Italian fare such as penne vodka or lasagna, or if you want something slightly more complicated, such as the Eggplant Stefania. Of course, there are also classic calzones and strombolis, with the option to add specialty toppings, or you can choose from their selection of pizzas (our personal favorite was the Rapini pizza, with broccoli rabe, fennel sausage, roasted garlic, and mozzarella). The lunch and dinner menus feature some of the same fare, but the dinner menu has the addition of a fish section, with items such as Linguini with Sebastian Inlet Clams, or Josie’s Salmon with sauteed spinach, fregula, salsa crudo, and cilantro oil.

Josie’s dinner menu also has more food to offer in terms of appetizers, such as the addition of Crostini Salmone, or soup. Even if you are full from your delicious dinner, there is more to come with Josie’s dessert menu. A crowd favorite, understandably so, is the peanut butter pie, topped with chocolate chips, a chocolate drizzle, cream, and an Oreo. If you are looking for tasty and authentic Italian food, we recommend Josie’s Italian Restaurant for their variety of options and flavors.
