Stan Cottrell has always been running, first down the dirt roads of rural Kentucky and now across the world. Stan discovered early on that running wasnt just a way to get from place to place. He knew this would set the stage for a lifelong journey of impact.
At 82 years old, Stan has logged more than 300,000 miles across 43 countries, each step driven by a mission to inspire and uplift. His latest challenge began on May 7, 2025, at the Georgia State Capitol. He set off on a 1,000-mile run around Georgia in just 40 days. This run is dedicated to disabled veterans—honoring their service and raising awareness for their mental health and support.
The “Sponsor-a-Mile” campaign allows supporters to dedicate a mile in honor of a veteran, turning each stride into a symbol of gratitude.

“The impossible is just the possible waiting to be done.”
His commitment to this belief has made him a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, a 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, and a globally recognized humanitarian. His upcoming journey will be documented in a Netflix docuseries, capturing the miles and the spirit behind each run.
Gratitude for Those Who Made It Possible
Stan’s journey wouldn’t be possible without the support of his generous sponsors and donors, including Chick-fil-A, Super Patch, Rikki James, Edgar Loudermilk, Helping a Hero Foundation, Meredith Iler, Birdwell Foundation, Graham Family Films, Crane Hanna Film Productions, Eddie Matthews, Lynnette Madsen, Brooke Woods-Bechtol, Solange Warner, Ephraim Kramer, World Chamber of Commerce, Marriott, Hampton Inn Suites, City of Atlanta, Scifiction.com, and Antoinette Love Ransom.
No one can run their race alone, it takes a community.”
