Designed by Kirby Caldwell Inc., Pendolino’s space was inspired by the mood of Italy: laid back, lively, and timeless. Eggplant, olive, and wine hues saturate this airy restaurant. With a homey comfort that’s perfect for date night but not too precious for young children. Lit with custom and vintage pendants, the main dining room houses oak and marble 4 tops mixed with large leather booths. Trimmed with linen cafe curtains and a mix of vintage and commissioned art. The main dining area evokes a timeless feel meant to patina with spilled tomato sauce and red wine over time.

The cuisine, though inspired by much of Italy, is also firmly rooted in the South. The menu highlights fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients. Drawing on the best produce and meats grown and raised by farmers and ranchers in the Southeast. The dishes are simple, yet unexpected and bursting with flavor. Highlights include a casual mix of antipasti, seasonal salads, pizzettes, house-made pastas, swordfish and shrimp dishes, as well as a prime beef burger. All of these, of course, are touched by the wood-fired oven that anchors the kitchen.

Cocktails here are a thoughtful mix of Italian classics with modern interpretations. The wine list is varied, mostly old-world and focused on wines from independent vineyards. An edited beverage program boasts a compact wine list focused on small, sustainable producers – many of whom practice natural or biodynamic wine making alongside local craft beers and ciders.

This versatile neighborhood restaurant haven is open for dinner seven days a week. Sunday through Thursday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pendolino offers the perfect atmosphere for date night, feasting with friends or family, or popping by for an after-work aperitivo.
