Every Color Matters Gala 2025: A Night of Hope and Action

Uniting All Colors, All Cancers

Many cancer organizations focus on a single cause or color. Every Color Matters takes a different approach—embracing every diagnosis, journey, and family.

Founded in Atlanta by Barney E. Jackson Jr., the nonprofit was created out of personal loss and built on the belief that no one should ever feel unseen in their fight against cancer. With Jackson at the helm, the organization continues to grow as a powerful force for awareness, advocacy, and support across all types of cancer.

What sets Every Color Matters apart is its commitment to visibility and access. The organization raises critical funds for financial relief, connects families with treatment support, and amplifies the voices of underrepresented individuals in the cancer community.

From emotional encouragement to real-time resource delivery, the nonprofit operates with empathy and efficiency. With initiatives like “Question: But Did You Vote?” and ongoing community outreach, Jackson has transformed his platform into more than cancer advocacy—it’s a vehicle for education and civic action.

Meet the Man Behind the Mission: Barney E. Jackson Jr.

Barney E. Jackson Jr. isn’t just a nonprofit leader; he’s a community organizer and a compassionate advocate. With roots in Griffin, Georgia, and decades of experience in public service and production, Jackson combines business acumen with a heart. As Founder and Executive Director, his passion is personal. After losing four father figures to cancer in six years, he built ECM into a haven of support for patients across the Southeast.

“I created Every Color Matters, so no one feels alone in their cancer journey,” Jackson says. “It’s not just about one color or one story. It’s about every survivor, every fighter, and every family.”

Inside the Every Color Matters Gala 2025 at the Delta Flight Museum

The 7th Annual Every Color Matters Gala took place on June 21, 2025, at the Delta Flight Museum. The event raised nearly $60K to support families facing cancer.

Guests arrived at a red-carpet cocktail reception beneath the wings of aviation history, followed by a plated dinner, a live band, DJ entertainment, and an open bar. The atmosphere was festive, but it was the mission that grounded the night. Hosted by legendary journalist and breast cancer survivor Monica Kaufman Pearson, with red carpet co-hosts Jonathan Stacey of Fox 5 News and producer Quinae Ford, the event radiated purpose and compassion.

One of the night’s most heartfelt moments came as four $1,000 checks were awarded to cancer patients, offering real support and hope. Virtual remarks from Mayor Andre Dickens and in-person resolutions from Senators RaShaun Kemp and Jason Esteves highlighted the impact of ECM.

The night honored every fighter and family through powerful stories and reflection, uniting all colors, all cancers, all stories.

Funds raised support Every Color Matters’ programs, offering financial aid, resources, and emotional support to families facing cancer. The night blended purpose and celebration, uniting people who believe in the power of showing up.

A Movement That Goes Beyond the Gala

The gala isn’t just a one-night affair—it fuels a broader movement for equitable cancer support. Additionally, funds raised from this year’s event will support Every Color Matters’ growing list of initiatives, including:

  • The Community 5K Run/Walk set for October 2025
  • The ECM Scholarship Fund
  • The Home for the Holidays Program supporting children with parents undergoing treatment
  • Educational outreach in schools, churches, and businesses
  • Financial assistance for patients and families navigating cancer
