Superica: Tex-Mex At Krog Street Market

Tucked inside the bustling Krog Street Market, Superica is more than a Tex-Mex eatery— set against the backdrop of Atlanta’s industrial history, Superica is a culinary tribute to the flavors of the Southwest. Opened by Ford Fry, the low-lit cantina with house-made tortillas, mesquite-grilled meats, and handcrafted drinks takes diners straight to the heart of Texas.

Whether you’re spending the day at Krog Street Market and stumble in for a weekend brunch, a lively dinner, or for some sips on one of their house-made cocktails–alcoholic or not– Superica is the spot for elevated Tex-Mex in Atlanta.

Starting Strong

Guacamole with tostadas and lime –I almost filled up on the guacamole alone! So creamy and fresh and packed with the perfect balance of tangy lime! It’s one of those staples– making it the ideal start to the meal.

Zero-Proof Cocktails

Superica’s cocktail menu is the show’s real star, but their zero-proof cocktails change the game for those simply opting for a booze-free night.

  • Tammy’s Marg – A non-alcoholic twist on the classic margarita with Lyre’s Agave Spirit, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, muddled jalapenos, and a tajin rim.
  • All Flower, No Power – Floral, light, and refreshing– A zero-proof version of their Hibiscus Margarita! With Lyre’s Agave Spirit, fresh lime juice, hibiscus-morita chile syrup, and Lyre’s Orange Sec.

Street-Style Tacos: A Taco Lover’s Dream

For the entree, I went all in on Superica’s taco selection– trust me, you’ll want to do the same, as it’s rumored the street-style tacos may not be around for long. Hint: new things are coming, and some favorites might be leaving the menu soon.

  • Tacos de Camarones — These tacos, indeed, are a seafood lover’s dream– Gulf shrimp in scampi butter, cheesy tortillas, and a kick from chipotle salsa and morita chile mayo.

  • Tacos de Barbacoa— (My personal favorite) Slow-cooked brisket, smoky pasilla oaxaca, and creamy avocado– a must-try before they’re gone.

With the “live music” playing on the projector screen, a nostalgic touch makes the dining experience more than just a meal. Superica is the kind of place where you can settle in and soak in the lively vibe.

Whether you are a regular or a first-timer, there’s always something for you to discover on the menu–but maybe don’t wait too long if you’re eyeing those Street-Syle Tacos!
